Diamond studded doll for $935,000 – Not every girl’s best friend

Who is nerd enough to be ignorant of the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”? Even if you haven’t heard the song, I’m sure you have heard or read this line somewhere at least. If not, then probably you have never known girls. And just as diamonds and girls are inseparable, same is the case for dolls. A must have in every girl’s childhood, dolls of various shapes or sizes has wooed the feminine clan worldwide, since ages. So bringing girl’s both “best friends” under one roof, a toy maker from Japan has unveiled a diamond doll. Tomy Toys takes a bow as it flaunts the Licca-chan doll that carries a teasing price tag of $935,000. Tagged at a little less then 1 million, Licca-chan is decked with 881 diamonds that total up to 51.4-carats. Certainly not a toy for every kid, this extravagant doll is meant for an exhibition that signifies the need for blinged toys even as you grow older. Isn’t it time to reframe the line as “Diamond studded doll is a Girl’s Best Friend”?

Morbidly Extravagant Nightlife Hotspots - Goldbar NYC

As far as interior design is concerned, GoldBar in New York City looks like the unfortunate lovechild of Tim Burton and Liberace.

GoldBar features gilded and polished surfaces galore, but its main design feature are the 3,000 gold-covered skulls grouped throughout the space. The skulls were inspired by the catacombs in Paris and the Crypt of the Cappuccini Monks in Rome.

GoldBar’s decor is described as ‘Liberace macabre interior style.’ Somehow, the grouping of the skulls is more impressive than creepy.
